Field Trips & Transportation
Periodically, the classes will participate in field trips. Each time a field trip is scheduled, a permission slip form will be sent home informing the parents of the time, place and costs if any. If your child has permission to participate, the form must be signed, dated and returned prior to the date of the trip.
Transportation will be provided to and from all fieldtrips via a local commercial bus service. All children will be accompanied to and from the vehicle. An emergency help phone number and first aid kit will be kept in the vehicle and available to staff at all times. Medicine required by children on a daily basis will be carried on the field trip in a zippered backpack and administered by an authorized teacher. A list of the children's names being transported along with the name, address and phone number of the school shall be kept on the bus.
School Aged Children Arriving From Public School
To avoid concern and confusion, please contact us if your child will not be attending our school for the day. If your child is expected to arrive at the center after public school hours, we will meet for your child to be transported to A World Of Children.
Medication
All children get sick; however, please do not bring your child to school until they have passed the "contagious" stage. If your child arrives at our school with a contagious illness he/she will be asked to leave.
Due to state regulations and company policies, we are not permitted to administer over the counter or prescription medication.
The only exceptions we are permitted to make will be for behavior modification, life sustaining prescription medication (Albuterol, Ritalin, Metadate, etc.) or diaper ointment. Other medications, sunscreen, bug spray, etc., can be administered or applied prior to arriving to school.
If your child requires life sustaining or behavior modification medication or diaper cream during the day, please see the director when your child arrives. A medication authorization form must be filled out and signed by the parent. Written authorization from the child's physician must accompany any long-term prescription drug. The medicine itself must have the following information listed on it: the child's name, date, name of medication and dosage requirements. Medication must be stored in it's original container. All medication will be stored in a locked cabinet or box. Medication can only be stored for 10 days and then must be returned to the parents or discarded.
Lunches & Snacks
A hot, nutritious lunch is served each day along with 2 snacks. Menus will be posted weekly in each classroom. Parents are encouraged to review them in advance. Children should not bring food to school. Food exceptions cannot be made for individual children, except in cases of allergies or for religious reasons.
